The Gardens

Alice Keck Gardens

Located in the heart of Santa Barbara and once the site of the elegant El Mirasol Hotel, Alice Keck Memorial Gardens provides more than just a lovely location for an outdoor wedding… It is truly a nature lover’s wonderland!

It’s grassy knolls, flanked by over 75 species of tree and flora, slope gracefully down to a pond filled with swan, lively koi, and families of turtles sunning themselves upon outcroppings of rock, a perfect setting for both extravagant and intimate ceremonies alike.

Overlooking the pond on the opposite side sits a charming Wedding Gazebo built for two, above which the shady and intimate Sundial Area is perched. Arched bridges and winding paths abound in this botanical crown jewel, making Alice Keck Memorial Gardens a top choice for many garden themed weddings.

Franceschi Park

Named for Italian horticulturist Francesco Franceschi, this intimate and charming park offers some of the most wonderful views of the Santa Barbara city and coast. It is well known locally for its wonderful collection of exotic plants.

The Franceschi home is within the boundaries of the park and is currently scheduled for a face-lift. There is a small picnic site that makes for a lovely mini-reception site and a flagstone patio that serves as the ceremony area. This is a great park for lunch or a romantic stroll through the winding paths. Franceschi Park is best suited for groups of 30 and under.

Reservations and permits are not available for Francheski Park, which makes it a “first come, first served” area, but is well worth staking it out early to fall in love with the awe inspiring views and romantic old world feel of this hidden Santa Barbara gem.

Directions: Take Mission from the 101 towards the mountains and follow until you reach the end. Turn left onto Laguna and at the stop sign turn right onto Los Olivos. At the fork in the road bear right and follow the Alameda Padre Serra until you reach Alvarado Place. Turn left and when you reach Mission Ridge, turn right. Drive until you see the sign for the park on your left. Take the next left onto Franceschi Road. Look for the park gates on your left marked 1501 about 400 feet from Mission Ridge. (If you get to the top of the hill you have gone too far). Enter the gates and go down a long level driveway to the parking area.

Manning Park

Just minutes from downtown Santa Barbara and nestled at the base of the foothills in the exclusive community of Montecito is a charming wedding location which seems more like a mysterious “secret garden” than a county park. Winding wooded paths and romantic nooks abound, always leading the curious wanderer to a new and delightful discovery. Steal a kiss under the vine laden redwood arbor, take a moment to dream of life together beside a winding stream… every turn holds a new discovery!

Various areas throughout the park provide idyllic settings for your wedding ceremony, from expansive lawns to secluded palm shaded gardens. Ample picnic areas also offer an ideal setting for a garden themed wedding reception. Truly one of our favorite wedding locations, Manning Park is a Montecito Weddings treasure!

Directions: From Highway 101, exit at San Ysidro Rd. Head towards the mountains. You will pass a school, and then the park’s sign and driveway will be on your left. Enter, and the driveway winds around through the estate until you come to the parking lot at the end.

Mission Rose Gardens

Another hot ticket for outdoor wedding sites is The Mission Rose Gardens. Located adjacent to the Mission Historical Park, the Rose Garden abounds with over 1000 different well tended and magnificent species of roses. With a bubbling fountain to greet you as you arrive, exquisite views of the mountains rising above, and an expansive grassy area that looks directly out onto our “Queen of Missions”, the Mission Rose Gardens makes a delightful and historic setting for your wedding ceremony.

Directions: Take Mission from the 101 towards the mountains and follow until you reach the end. Turn left onto Laguna St. Drive another two blocks and you will see the Mission directly in front of you. There is parking at the Mission and along the various side streets.

Wedding Ceremonies can be performed in English, Spanish, or French
